Gary Gramprie was born in Wisconsin where his love of ice hockey was nurtured. Gramprie has participated, almost since he could walk, in team play. He has played AA travel hockey since the Mite age. As a Midget through Junior A in the US Hockey League, Gary played under the direction of Kevin Constantine (former NHL head coach and present head coach of the Everett Silvertips in the WHL).
As a young player in the Midwest, he had led many of his teams to championships or at least contention. As an adult has continued to play successfully, winning a Men’s Open Tournament in 2004, but has recently switched his focus to coaching. He currently holds a Level 3 coaching certificate from USA Hockey, and has won several awards as a player for leadership and sportsmanship from his coaches. His integrity and conscientiousness combined with his dedication to hockey have imparted great lessons to his players.
